Seabrook Black is an English heritage black currant introduced by W. Seabrook & Son of Chelmsford in 1913. Historical descriptions distinguish its dense fruit clusters from those of Merveille de la Gironde. Its lasting contribution was late flowering: breeding studies found that Seabrook passed this on to its seedlings, and it appears in the ancestry of Ben Tirran.
